Condo windows are different from most regular windows because in most cases the condo window spans from ceiling to floor and this requires a unique approach. Since there is no wall space between the condo window and the ceiling there is no space to mount the rod on the wall. The most popular solution for this situation is a ceiling mount rod or track which eliminates the problem of light peek-a-booing through the edges of the window, and allows for a rod or track to be installed in a functional and elegant way. The Ibeam rod, KS Track, CCS track, TCS motorized drapery track, and Traverse rod are the most popular solutions for ceiling to floor condo windows. All three of these allow for a tight ceiling mount, which blocks out peek-a-boo light from entering your living space. Our design consultants will walk you through the whole process and give you the best options for your individual situation. Prestige Decor is here for all your custom condominium window treatment needs and desires. Hope to see you soon!

Below we answer some frequently asked questions we receive from clients. If you have a question we’ll gladly answer it.
Condos in Ontario have specific rules for window coverings: most require a neutral or white window covering facing outwards, so if you want colour, you'll need white or off white lining on the back of your curtains. Alternatively, you can have white sheers on the inside and any colour curtains on the outside which takes care of the neutral problem, plus the sheers allow you to have privacy and sunlight control.
Almost every customer who needs window coverings for his/her windows has this problem and we can help. On our condominium drapery page you can see many photos that were done in our customer’s condos who had this same issue. Drapes could be made different lengths and we can make them look uniform and really stunning.
In this case sheers are your solution. They are most often associated with light and breezy panels, but they are usually the most hardworking part of your window treatment – blocking light and providing privacy. Even at night time it will give you protection: from outside only shades can be seen.
Unfortunately, if you want to block the sun the grommet style is not for you. Decorative rod installed on a ceiling will be below the window frame and will allow light to go through, so will the grommets. In your case, a drapery track with a ripple fold style or inverted pleats will do the job. To read more about our blackout drapery options click - Blackout Drapery
Wall of windows are typical for condo apartments, and usually it is a large area to cover. Just imagine how many ready made drapes you would need to buy if panels for this high ceiling would exist. You need a lot of yardage of fabric and labour time and this is why condo drapery is more expensive then drapery for houses. However, condo drapery is not overly priced and our prices are very affordable.
